CHRISTMAS TREASURE HUNT
Make a list of things which you want people
to find by looking in one room or the whole
house, the first one to bring back them
all wins a home-made prize!
There are lots of ways of doing this,
here are just a few ideas.
IDEA 1
Everyone has to collect everyday things such as :
- A teaspoon
- A cushion
- A hat
- A sock
IDEA 2
Put pictures or photos around the house for people to find and ask questions about the picture for people to write down and bring back.
e.g. what colour hat is the teddy bear wearing?
IDEA 3
Have a Christmas theme with everyone working as a team following a series of clues. Simply give the first clue card to the hunters and let them follow the clues to the end.
Some examples of clues could be:
The North Pole is covered in ice- your next clue is in somewhere very cold (fridge or freezer)
IDEA 4
Collect objects, or write a list of things you see or
take pictures of things from a list:
- Something red
- Something green
- Something smooth
- Something shiny
- Etc…
PASS THE PARCEL
For anyone who has not played this before the idea is that everyone sits in a circle. They pass around a parcel that is wrapped in multiple layers, while music is playing. When the music stops, whoever is holding the parcel must unwrap one layer and take their prize (e.g. there can be a small sweet if you want but this is not compulsory), and/or perform the action (forfeit).
Why not have a Christmas themed with one which you can wrap in your home made wrapping paper? There can be a joke or forfeit to do in between the wrapper. You can even put silly things to wear in between like silly socks or hats.
CHRISTMAS PICTIONARY
Write a list of things associated with Christmas ideas which you then cut up, fold and place in a bowl. You will need paper and pencils/pens- this can be done as a whole, in teams or pairs- whichever works. One person picks a piece of folded paper out of the bowl and then without telling anyone has a go at drawing it. Everyone else has to guess what it is. If they do they get the next go! Alternatively you can set it up as teams and a time limit. See how many the team can guess in the time limit.
CHRISTMAS GUESS WHO
To prepare this game you will need to write down Christmas related items, names or movies on cards or paper. If you want to you could also add Christmas hats for everyone and tape but this is not necessary. You can play on your own or in teams.
To play the game, everyone sits facing each other. The cards are in the middle face down. The first person picks a card up but DOES NOT look at it and either holds it on their
forehead so everyone can see it or sticks it onto their hat with some tape. It’s better if you set a timer but you do not need to if you don’t want to.
The person who is guessing should ask the other players questions to help them identify the name on their head. The answers can only be “yes”, “no”, “could be”, or “I don’t know” answers. They can not ask “Who am I?”
At any point, during their turn, they can guess who or what they have on their head, but if they are wrong, the turn is up and it goes to the next player
If the timer runs out while still asking players, their turn is up and it goes to the next player
The team or individual who guesses the most correctly wins!
